Our Story
At The RARE Company, we believe entertainment can move people in the most profound ways.
For nearly 20 years, the team behind RARE has created experiences with music at their heart. We began with intimate shows in a jazz club such as Song Lounge and Chamber Jam in the mid 2000s, Monday-night spaces to showcase hidden talent and experiment with new formats. As the work evolved, so did our confidence in our ability to connect people on a bigger scale.
With the right team in place and working alongside clients who shared our belief in the power of creativity, The RARE Company launched in 2025 as a culmination of many ideas and experiences, converging into one new entity.
Today, our work ranges from orchestral productions and cinematic concerts to large-scale cultural experiences, outdoor spectacles and creative commissions for cities, festivals and major events. Our team brings decades of experience in production, storytelling, placemaking, artist development, orchestral innovation and global touring.
We collaborate with Australian talent, including many artists and working around the world, and with extraordinary international artists and creative organisations whose work enriches Australia’s cultural landscape.
